National Vinyl Windows Qualify for the ReBuild Western Massachusetts Residential Program
As noted on November 21, 2011 on the Massachusetts government website ), “Through the “ReBuild Western Massachusetts” program, the Department of Energy Resources (DOER) in partnership with the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center (MassCEC) is providing either grants or subsidizing construction loans for energy improvements to help homeowners whose homes were damaged or destroyed by the June 1st 2011 tornadoes in Western Mass. Many homes suffered damage, and are in need of either repairs or complete rebuilding. Participants are eligible to apply if damage to their home has been documented by FEMA or other supporting state, local, and federal agencies. Those qualified are eligible to apply for one of the following program offerings: a loan, a grant or the repair program. All loans are subject to bank approval and applicants must meet bank loan eligibility requirements to qualify for loans. The goal of this program is to help communities rebuild better and smarter for a future in which we are all less dependent on imported fossil fuels.”
For homeowners in Brimfield, Monson, Southbridge, Springfield, Sturbridge, West Springfield and Western Massachusetts towns affected by the June 1, 2011 tornadoes there are grants available for ENERGY STAR® Qualified Replacement Windows and Doors as a result of storm damage. National Vinyl’s Northwind III, Destiny, TrustGuard and Sentinel windows all qualify and are available. But don’t delay, these grants and loans are available for installation completed by April 30, 2012.

NATIONAL VINYL LLC LAUNCHES PREMIUM R-5 WINDOW for DOE High Efficiency Windows Volume Purchase Program
On May 27th the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) announced the launch of the Highly-Insulating R-5 Windows and Low-e Storm Windows Volume Purchase Program, part of a multi-year integrated strategy to transform the market for high efficiency windows. Scott Channell, National Vinyl’s GM attended the meeting at the NAHB National Headquarters in Washington D.C. "The Department of Energy has played a key role in rapidly advancing window technology in the past few years. This program will help move these technologies into the marketplace, providing significant energy savings to homes and businesses across the country," said Roland Risser, DOE's Building Technologies Program Manager. "This initiative will help drive demand and increase the number of offerings available to builders and project developers."
The program includes both Highly-Insulating R-5 (U value 0.2) Windows and Low-e Storm Windows. When replacing windows or building a new building, R-5 Windows can reduce heat loss through the window by 30 to 40% compared to a typical R-3 window available today. The savings for R-5 windows are a significant improvement over products available today.
Volume purchasers of windows, including government agencies, builders, energy retrofitters, renovators, and weatherization providers, will gain online access to window sellers whose products are certified to meet the High-Insulation R-5 and Low-e Storm Windows specification. For more information, visit the Highly-Insulating Windows and Low-e Storm Windows Volume Purchase Program Web site.
National Vinyl LLC of Chicopee, MA is one of only 30+ suppliers meeting all program requirements and is currently listed on the DOE Web site as ready to sell window products that meet the Highly-Insulating R-5 specifications. “National Vinyl is very excited about this new program. Being based in New England, we know how important energy efficiency is and we are proud to manufacture products that can be a part of this program, ” comments Channell.
National Vinyl services the entire northeastern United States.
The May 27th launch event was co-hosted by the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) and included participation from a broad spectrum of building industry stakeholders, including NAHB, American Architectural Manufacturers Association, the Alliance to Save Energy, Community and Economic Development Association of Cook County, Illinois (CEDA), and Habitat for Humanity.
